I'm a native of Wilkes-Barre, PA. MY AA degree is from Luzerne County College in Nanticoke, PA, and BFA degree with honors from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, MD.
My art has been displayed in galleries and art shows around the Chesapeake Bay region and is collected world-wide.
Clients as diverse as the American Fisheries Society and MAD Magazine have featured my illustrations on their covers. I may be best known for my illustrations of pop culture icons commissioned by companies in the hobby industry.
Museums and non-profit organizations have commissioned me for the purpose of raising funds and awareness. For my artistic support of the Combined Federal Campaign the United Way awarded me the National Community Service Award.
I retired as a civilian from the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command, where I created 3-D computer animations and conceptual illustrations. After working full-time for almost 42 years, I'm finally focusing my full attention on my studio work.
And soon I'll be married to my wonderful fiancée Pat!
The studio is where I immerse myself in my love of painting, usually acrylics or gouache. I'll pull out the airbrush when it suits the project. Generally, I'll supply my client with a set of concept drawings. Based on their selection, a detailed drawing and color roughs are submitted. Once approved, I'll transfer the drawing to watercolor board or canvas. Music or an audiobook is selected and the final painting begins.
